Aqui y Ahora Coffee

Best Cafes in Cozumel

This new Cozumel cafe is a digital nomad’s oasis. A perfect space where you can hang out from morning into late night. An environment without distractions to get your work done and not feel like you need to get out after your coffee fix. The atmosphere is unique and modern. It’s dimly lit so your eyes feel comfortable which is important if you’re working for a few hours. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have incredible coffee (100% arabica from Mexico, roasted locally) served by certified baristas.

They have lightning-fast wifi and outlets near every seat. They provide you a foosball table inside and cornhole boards outside. They also have board games and art shows. On weekends they have bottomless mimosas and a singer-songwriter. There is a mix of hard and soft seating, and lots of comfy nooks to hang out in. Overall, Aqui y Ahora is the best place to get a coffee and chill or work in Cozumel.

They are located on the waterfront road (Melgar) between 2 and 4. Just a short walk to the North from the ferry.

They are open 7 days per week from 7:30 to 12:30 am and plan to stay open until 3:30 am once the curfew is lifted.

Sucré Salé

Sucré Salé is a family-owned cafe that is known best for its pastries. The owner is a French pastry chef. Before they had the cafe they were selling the pastries out of their home. I used to buy pastries from them all the time. They were so busy that they had to open a cafe so they could keep all the pastry degenerates out of their house.

COZ Coffee Roasting Company

Best Cafes in Cozumel

Coz Coffee is a good place to absorb the energy of Cozumel in the city center.

They have coffee down to a science! Their coffees come from Vera Cruz, Chiapas, and Oaxaca. They roast their beans in-house — about 15 Kgs per week to make sure that the beans stay fresh and you get the most out of every sip.

Their specific way of roasting beans is known as the coffee curve. This is to make sure that the temperature of the roast is exactly where it’s supposed to be so that the flavor is well balanced.

Every cup of coffee ordered is weighed out on a digital scale, so that each coffee will deliver the satisfaction you are looking for.

They are located just a few steps to the north of the square, on 5 Next door to Dick’s Dive Bar. Enjoy.

Maple Bakehouse

Maple Bakehouse Cafe is a bustling downtown cafe where you can enjoy delicious coffee and creative baked goods only a block away from the ocean. Their coffee comes from Chiapas and Vera Cruz, and also has a little “secret sauce”. I have no idea what that means but it’s pretty tasty.

When you get into Maple Bakehouse there is a wall of baked goods. They aren’t labeled so you’ll have to ask for help finding the right thing, but once you get it you won’t be sorry.

Sit back, relax, and feel the island vibes. Enjoy your coffee with a maple bakehouse fresh croissant. They start baking their pastries each morning at 2 am, so you are definitely going to experience the freshness of each pastry. Maple bakehouse also serves breakfast all day. What really stands out are their croissant options.

To really feel the island you can come and attend their live music Thursday -Saturday from 8 pm to 10-pm.
